The Stewart Trust has assets
of approximately $90 million as of December 31, 2001, and distributed
over $4.3 million in grant is calendar year 2001. Grantees range from
health clinics and hospitals, to hospices caring for the underprivileged.
New grant requests (except for organizations already funded by the Trust) for treatment of cancer or pediatric afflictions should be submitted first by letter to the Trust. This letter may be sent by standard mail or e-mail. The letter will be considered by the trustees, and the requester will notified of whether a formal proposal should be submitted for consideration by the Trust. The Trust does not accept proposals for research unless specifically requested by the trustees. The Trust, with the help of medical experts, establishes targeted research programs.
